Orecchini Sakura, Sakura earrings

I alway liked the Japanese aesthetic and I have a little interest for Oriental folklore and culture. I know little the Japanese culture, but I understand that is extremely large and sophisticated. For example, do you know that in Japan there is day for celebrating the eldery, one dedicated to young boys, one to young girls, another one to the sport, to the aldults, to the culture, to the stars etc? In the country of the Rising Sun is rooted a deep respect for the family, for the adges of Life, for the religion. Some parties have a social importance, others have a religios and superstiotious function.

The best know here in Italy (also thanks to the Japan cartoons, great passion of my generation) is Hana mi that mean "To observe the flowers". It's celebrated in April, when cherry trees, symbols of Japan, are blomming. In this period thousands of Japanes migrating to the most important cities for to  sip Sakè and to eat sushi under the Sakura. The blomming lasts only two weeks, then petals fall togheter, forming a great snowfall of pink petals..I'm movie only thinking about this!
For their short duration Sakura are symbol of ephemeral, of the newal of Life and of the stranght of Samurai.
If you live in Rome or you can make a travel to the city between March and April you can to celebrate tha Hana mi! You have to go to "Passeggiata del Giappone" (Walk Japan), at Laghetto dell'EUR. You'll find a lot of Sakura donated from Japan!

As usual I changed a thing I like in a bijoux and I made a pair of earrings inspired by the Sakura! Of course, they not render the grandeur of the true trees, but worn are so pretty!

Are modeled with polymer clay and hand painted with acrylics. I have painted them with a glossy resin to protect them and to give a ultra-gloss effect. The drop measure 0,70 x0,51.
At the hooks I added two beautiful Swarovski bicon combined with the drop.

Is the first time I use this kind of hooks, are more long than the classic and as you can see you can close them!
I like to vary the model of earwire!
